Something Sweet

Every once in a while, a reader sends an e-mail with his or her response to a book I've written.

The other day, I got such an e-mail from Lily, who created Bubbe's Jewish Apple Cake, from the recipe at the back of How to Survive Middle School.

Lily is so creative that she changed the topping from powdered sugar to a lovely glaze.

And she was sweet enough to send photos that, with her mom's permission, I'm sharing with you.

Isn't that beautiful?

Thanks, Lily!

Isn't she, though? Then again, you have a couple of pretty cook kids there, too.
